Having recently announced a second year’s worth of tuition pledges for the post-secondary educations of a Toledo high school’s graduates, HOPE Toledo leaders say they have their eyes set on broader outcomes.

President Biden’s massive American Jobs Plan is likely to come in two parts: a traditional transportation package as well as a domestic package that includes, among other priorities, universal pre-kindergarten. It’s an education initiative deserving of broad support.

Students in the 2021 graduating class at Jesup W. Scott High School will have an opportunity to apply for a scholarship from HOPE Toledo, under the HOPE Toledo Promise program.

Officials from HOPE Toledo announced that 2021 graduates and one parent will be awarded a scholarship to fund post-secondary education—community college, university, or trade school—and it will include funding for tuition, room and board, books, and fees.

Wednesday was another historic day for seniors at Scott High School looking to further their education.

"I was so surprised, I'm so happy and just so thrilled to start something new in my life," senior Patricia Hampton said.

HOPE Toledo virtually announced the expansion of its scholarship program to include the Class of 2021.

Scott High School’s graduating seniors will be heading to college debt-free thanks, once again, to HOPE Toledo. The community organization made the announcement to students during an event on Wednesday. The program, which is part of HOPE Toledo Promise, aims to create generational change through access to education.
