Mary Ann Rody

Mary Ann Rody is the Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Child Care Providers (OACCP) and has dedicated over 26 years to early childhood education. She spent much of her career at Children’s Discovery Center (CDC), a locally owned child care chain in the greater Toledo area, where she served as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, she oversaw daily operations and training for nearly 250 staff members and helped provide high-quality, full-day educational child care to approximately 1,400 children across CDC’s eight centers. Prior to becoming COO, she held various leadership roles, including Kindergarten Teacher, Administrator, Human Resource Manager, and Vice President.
Mary Ann is also an author, co-writing Inspiring Spaces for Young Children and ROSIE—Rating Observation Scale for Inspiring Environments. She actively contributes to the early childhood community, currently serving as Secretary of the Baby University Board and previously holding leadership roles with ProMedica Caring Services, Help Me Grow's EC3 Committee, the Penta Early Childhood Program Advisory Board, and the Toledo Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC), where she served as President.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from John Carroll University and has completed significant coursework toward a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from the University of Toledo. In addition to her leadership and consulting work, she has been a Membership Chair for OACCP and continues to support child care facilities through advisory roles.
Mary Ann lives in Maumee, Ohio, with her husband of 46 years. They have two grown daughters, one grown son, and two very active twin granddaughters.
